I have a relaxer on my hair and I'm afraid to put a permanent hair color on it. I also have strands of gray. Will a semi-peramanent cover the gray strands?

Be careful with what you put in your hair especially if you do it yourself. It depends how long you've had your relaxer in. You know that once your roots come out you'll have to get a retouch. Relaxer can and will take any "not natural" color out of your hair. Semi-permanent will cover hair but to a certain degree, and of course it will eventually go away because its not completely permanent. It depends with gray hair, because sometimes gray isnt so easy to cover up because its so stubborn. If the color doesnt cover the hair real well it might look like little highlights. It depends what color you plan on getting. I mean the darker you go the better chance you have of it covering. Always read manufacturers directions.

putting anything on your hair is a risk. It depends on how long your relaxer has been put in. If you just got the relaxer in your hair then you should wait a while are you going darker or lighter going lighter has a lot of bleaching agents that can really strip your hair. If you are going darker try one of those temp. hair colors and see how you like it. you can also buy(I like Loreal preference) because it has conditioners in it. yes if you leave it on long enough it will cover the gray but it seems like the gray really shows up in about 6 weeks then you can just do a touch up. I know they say to never double process your hair but if you are really scared to do it at home go to a good salon and they will do a stress test on your hair.
