I have dark blonde hair that I used a light ash blonde, with highlighting home kit on. The results have turned my hair a lighter blonde, which I wanted, but also added a orangey tint to it also, especially when wet, which I didn't want. Now I am trying to find a toner or something else that can tone down or eliminate the orange from my hair.
Is there a good hair product that can help with hair that has turned slightly orange from home hair coloring.?
Try Shimmer Lights shampoo. It's violet toned and slightly less intense than an actual Toner. It should take some of the warmth out of your hair without causing damage. But PLEASE don't over-use it. Once a week is enough. If your hair is already porous from the prior highlighting you could inadvertently turn your hair blue!
You can buy it at Sally's beauty Supply for less than $10.

I was told once by my hairdresser (after I turned my hair orange) that tide will help take the orange out, and of course she told me this AFTER i spent the money on her to re-dye it!

Try a color stripper product on your hair. This product is usually used on darker hair before taking it to a really light color but it should take the orange out of your hair and leave you a blond color. You must have a lot of red undertones in your hair and ash blond may not be a good color for you try a strawberry blond that has some red in it or a light brown. You could also dye your hair a darker color to cover the orange color.
