Hair coloring troubles :(?

ok, so i have really dark brown, thick, coarse hair, and i tired dying it 2x already, but it looks no different unless i stand under really bright light and i just want it a light brown. i dont wanna bleach my hair and then dye it because my is dead already, what should i do? should i just use more dye? please help.

ok, first... be careful when trying to go light brown. I can't even tell you how often in ends up grayish. I am a home dye advocate, but I'm gonna tell you that you should probably go to a salon. if that's not an option for some reason, go for a high lift dye. I know there is a loreal one and I think there is a garnier one. They are made specifically for dark hair.

i'm not sure if you should use more dye yet. i've never dyed my hair before, so i dont know the damage it does personally. but my sister went through a hair-dying phase.

i, honestly, would wait a little while, or try to get a professional to take the dye out. and ask them how and when to dye your hair a light brown.

It's hard to lighten coarse hair. You can try going with a lighter shade of dye than you've been using, but it's a bit of a risk. Lightening hair is always harder than darkening. Can you go to a good salon?

Keeping hair dye on longer won't work, either. It stops working after a certain amount of time.

NO NO NO. Do not keep dying it. You will strip your hair and make it even coarser than before. Let a professional handle it, or leave it alone. I dye my hair at home, but I don't have any trouble changing the color. If you have already tried twice without results, call it a lesson learned, and be glad to still have the hair you've got!

As a professional stylist my recommendation is to go to a reputable salon and have a consultation so that they can analize your hair and find a solution but expect to spend a lot of money for good service. Sometimes with dark and course hair the only way to cut through that color is with bleach. I recommend having heavy highlights placed through out your hair in a light brown or caramel color.

Unfortunately, with dark hair, you're kind of stuck with some kind of lightening process if you want it to be light. You might want to go into a salon and have it done professionally. And if you don't, before you even try to dye your hair again...get yourself a really great conditioner, and hair repair products. If you're going to dye it again, you want to try to revive it so that it doesn't break off.

don;t die it get it cut every month or every two weeks and get it thinned out helps out to control it more once your hair has grown out have a hairstylist dye it so she can get it how you want cos if you die it right now it'll be really dry and not in the exact color you want since you've alredy died it

Have you ever thought of putting the colour violin on your hair its a lovely rich shiny colour. I think if you dye your hair lighter when it starts to grow with a regrowth showing you will regret dying it lighter. Trust me I speak from experience
