Does this hair coloring process have a name?

I am getting my hair dyed this weekend. We are calling around to different salons to see how much it costs.

I was wondering if this process had a name;

because it's not all over color, but it's not highlights/streaks.

We're calling around places and trying to explain to them what I want done and they're acting like we're idiots.
