I have tried just for men and it doesn't last long. Would you recommend getting it colored at a hair stylist or professionally?

How gray are you? If it's about 1/4 to 1/2 gray, then you shouldn't try permanent color, you should have it "blended" out.

Go to a professional colorist that uses Redken. There is a product from Redken, meant for just this purpose, it's called Color Camo. It's for men. It only takes about 15 minutes to do, it's inexpensive, and you can have it done when you go in for your haircut. Plus, it's not really high maintenance because it's not "permanent haircolor" therefore you aren't going to get ugly gray roots.

I am a professional hairdresser, and I use this on my male clientele. They love that it's geared towards men and it only takes a few minutes at the shampoo bowl. They don't have to sit there with color on their head.

Don't try and do this on your own because color is sooooo easy to mess up.
