At home hair coloring advice?

I colored my hair a medium brown( to cover outgrown highlights) and applied copper highlights using Herbal essences for dark brown hair. However, I dislike the all over copper look I now have, especially on the crown of my head. I am wondering if I should start over from the base color and use Loreal's Highlight Styliste(I have used this before with good results for Dark Hair) or leave the base out and add definition with the highlights. I am usedto coloring my own hair with the help of my sister. However 4 mths ago I decided to let a professional go all out and she lightened the base color on the crown of my head only then applied highlights. That is why, even though I coloredthe base before, it was not as dark as it should have been at the crown, so when the copper lights were added, the top of my head looked allcopper. Please suggest what I should do to add definition. I KNOW professionals are the best but in my country they seem to be NON existant. Thanks!

I color my own hair too, a tradition started my first year in college when I was poor! LoL but I have learned that the best highlighting kits or even coloring kits come from a beauty supply store and not a store like a walmart becuase those colors always lie. If you dont start over from the base color you will have uneven color all over so I suggest all over color to get the base even then going back with a different highlighting kit, the one you know works if you cant get to a beauty supply store.

If I knew what kinda look you were going for I might have some more help.

color your hair all one color and leave it alone. the more u mess with it the more u will be dissatisffied. don't ruine your hair. its better to have silky solid color than to have crunchy broken multi color. give it a rest and just deep cond. it

It seems to be you probably have a cool skin color not liking the copper color

Try dying it a ashbrown
