Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

I am coloring my hair (Champene Blonde (if it makes a difference)) and I know that having gel and hair-spray is a "no no" when coloring hair. I have a little bit of frizz so I use those oils for hair before straighting it and I was wondering if that (oil; serum) is exceptable before coloring it or if I should just avoid it all together. Oh yes, and how long should I wait from washing my hair to coloring it (eg. 12, 24 hours)?

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

Oils, serums, and leave in conditioner would actually make dye harder to penetrate your hair because it makes it porous. If you can do without, leave it out. However, if you do insist on using it; make sure you massage the dye into your hair very thoroughly.

Ideally, you shouldn't wash your hair for 24 hours as this makes the colour fade. I tend to not wash it for a good 2 days as I find hair dyes really dry your hair, and not make it greasy until about the 3rd day.

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

I think it depends on the brand of dye that you are using. Check out the directions inside the box, and it will tell you specifically what it requires.

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

Who says you can't? It won't affect the hair coloring just maybe make it harder to mix in if the hair spray or gel was put on too much. Don't wash your hair prior to coloring though, it'll make it more prone to damages.

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

I don't think it will affect it. Check the box to make sure. If it doesn't say anything about it, then you should be alright. You may also want to check the bottle of the product in question. Also, don't use a store-bought blonde to color your hair unless your hair is already a light to medium brown or another shade of blonde. Darker browns will not color blonde using store bought hair color. Any other colors, you will have to use bleach and I suggest going to a professional hair stylist.

As far as washing your hair, the dirtier the better. The color takes better to dirty hair, so anywhere from 24-48 hours of not washing your hair is ideal. Good luck! Hope it comes out great!

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

other coloring dyes

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

Well, I think it's best not to have any chemicals or anything on your hair before you color it. You don't know what can mess up your color, so it's best to keep your hair clean before you color it!

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

your hair should always be clean and dry before coloring it, never dirty the dirt and products prevent the color from working up to its full streangth. if you are coloring your own hair becareful runing it through the ends they can break off. 24-48 hours to shampoo(hair dresser of ten years)

Is gel and hair-spay the ONLY thing I can't have in my hair before coloring it?

Whether it be hairspray, gel, or frizz serum, if by coloring your hair you really mean to say "bleaching it", or "lifting color", or "going lighter in hair color", you can have any or all of these hair products in your hair when bleaching it. The chemicals used to bleach won't blink an eye in getting through hair gel to get to your hair. Don't have to wait after washing it either to bleach it, and you don't have to wash your hair before you bleach either.

How long to wait for re-coloring hair?

About 3 days ago I colored my hair at home with a demi-permanent (lasts around 8 shampoos). But after one shampoo in the shower this morning, I noticed a lot of the coloring was coming out and now it's not as dark brownish red as I had in the begining or wanted. This was my first time for ever coloring my hair, professionally or not, and my hair is in great condition. So my question is, would it be okay to re-color as soon as 48 hours or should I wait longer?

How long to wait for re-coloring hair?

Demi-permanent really doesn't damage your hair, especially not if it doesn't have peroxide. The best idea would be to wait about two weeks to absolutely avoid damage, but if you're not worried about hurting it a little bit, go ahead with demi-permanent.

Wait a few days at least.

How long to wait for re-coloring hair?

about 2 weeks sweetie.

How long to wait for re-coloring hair?

Try waiting a little more like 2-4 weeks so your hair won't be damaged.

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

I've never colored my hair before. I'm in my 30's. I only have a few grays, totally unnoticable, so I don't "need" color, but in the past few years I've noticed my hair texture has changed. I assume it's age. It's not smooth anymore. It's frizzy with lots of flyaways. I've tried every conditioner and serum. Would coloring my hair make it smoother and more manageable and bring back the smooth texture I had when I was younger?

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

if you stay within 1-2 shades of your own color then yes. color will add some body, add softness and shine. but any more than 1-2 shades will require more maintanance, and dry it out.

if you want to go a little darker then you could get away with doing it at home.

but if you want to go lighter, say to a light brown or dark blond then you risk turning orange or red, with the store-bought products.

good luck

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

no. it actually breaks down the hair, making it brittle.

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

Coloring hair with chemicals damages it, especially when u r in ur thirties. use mehandi. it's an indian herb which improves the texture of ur hair, makes it soft and makes ur hair dark borwn or red. u can choose between thw 2 varieites. It has always worked for many people heer

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

no it weakens it actually

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

sometimes, but not always it depends on ur hair quality !but u can try ,then if u don ` get it bac then cut ur hairs (bald head) den u`ll get da hair which u`ve never dreamt abt (the gud one).gud luk.

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

No! Just stay natural

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

NO! When you colour hair it opens the cuticle making hair frizzy and unmanagable the only way to combat this is to use an intensive conditioner once a week and blow dry hair on a cool heat and avoid straighteners or straightening treatment. If you colour your hair the only thing it will do is worsen and weaken your hair making it much more susceptible to flyaways! Good Luck!

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

no. it damages your hair

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

Bleaching, dying, and coloring the hair actually destroys the hair's color pigments and usually damages the cuticle, leaving hair dry, dull, porous, and prone to split ends. Coloring your hair usually lifts the cuticle and bleach the natural color so the new shade can penetrate the hair shaft, which makes your hair dry and dull. When coloring your hair, the pigment lodges in the cortex of the hair which swells the cortex up, and damages the cuticles. I strongly suggest you not color your hair. I hope this information helped you.

Coloring hair/coloring eyebrows?

I have dark eyebrows but I want to dye my hair blonde. Would it look better to lighten the brows to match the hair than to leave them dark?

Coloring hair/coloring eyebrows?

One of my roommates dyed her hair about 4 times a month it seemed. She always seemed to dye her eyebrows as well. Said she'd always done it that way and well, she's 27 now and still has eyebrows...

Of course, everybody will tell you it's not safe (which it probably isn't), but it didn't seem to affect her much. Given she probably won't have hair when she's 35, but I guess moderation couldn't hurt?

Coloring hair/coloring eyebrows?

It's not really safe to dye your eyebrows... Just don't make your hair too light or your color job will look obvious.

Coloring hair/coloring eyebrows?

If it looks good to you to leave them dark, then you should, because bleaching the brows too much makes them very brittle and they break off like crazy. A lot of natural blondes actually have the dark eyebrows, I do. My hair is a natural blonde and I decided to bleach my brows when I did my hair platinum blonde, but I ended up penciling them in most of the time because the hair broke off a lot. If you do bleach them, just be careful with it because the hair will be a red/orange shade if you don't bleach them long enough

Why i have hard time coloring my hair?

hi all

im 35 y old and have 60% of gray hair already.

i tryed many brands for coloring hair but results were disastrous ...

finaly i found one brand (naturtint) and im very happy using it (natural chesnut brown).

But...

My skin is light and the color of the hair that im geting using naturtint brown is dark brown.

I tryed using light colors (like light brown....) but light colors dont cover my gray hairs!!

Why is that?

Why light colors (that probably would match my skin) does not stick to my gray hairs?

If i use darker colors they usually cover 100% of my grays but dark does not match to my skin!

I really like naturtint because is natural, but i also tryed loreal and other brands and i get same results- if color is light - it will not cover my grays.

I dont want to go to salon cuz im afraid hars hemicals they are using will damage my hair!

any help?

Why i have hard time coloring my hair?

ur gray hairs will only get lighter with a lighter color haircolor..

Coloring over my already colored hair within the same week.?

I have natural dark brown hair. I just dyed my hair a light red. I now want to put in light brown highlights all over my head. I need to know if I color my hair after just coloring it, would it come out the color I want? Is mixing hair dye bad? Should I wait a couple weeks to do this?

Coloring over my already colored hair within the same week.?

If you want to mix hair dye, go let a professional do it. And wait a while before redying your hair, you can really dry it out and damage it.

Coloring over my already colored hair within the same week.?

Wait a week at least, then bleach the future highlights then dye it brown!

Coloring over my already colored hair within the same week.?

I think you should use moisturizing shampoo or something so your hair won't get really dry Oh yeah and also wait at least a week...The chemical may be really harsh on your hair.

Coloring over my already colored hair within the same week.?

One time I dyed my hair and didn't like it, so I dyed it a different color the very next day, came out fine

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

i want to color my gray hair. i'm 37. i have doubt coloring hair not gray my hair further or some other ill effects like falling hair.

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

Coloring your hair will not cause it to fall out. However, if you over process it or do it too often, it will dry your hair out and split the ends. Just be sure to follow the directions exactly or, better yet, have it professionally done and you shouldn't have any problems.

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

ive been dying my hair for 10 years and it hasnt fallen out yet lol go for it!

just remember dont die it but every 3 weeks..... and dont bleach it but every month or so if you dont follow that then yeah you have a good chance of having it break or fall out

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

If your hair is healthy and you are healthy, then you should be okay.

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

it depend on the ingredients present in it %26amp; what is thier proportion

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

Coloring your hair is actually good. Bleaching it out is what kills it and makes it break off. If you are going to be doing this yourself, make sure you buy a product which states that it will cover gray. Gray hair is the hardest to cover, and if you do not use the right product it will just wash out. Instead of going to a Wal Mart etc, go to a beauty supply store. You can get so many more colors and different dyes, and in my opinion they are much better than the boxed stuff. Think about this, when you go to a salon, do they use a box off of the shelf?...nope! So, go to the supply store! Good luck!

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

if you go to the salon, they have natural herb ingredient hair colors. i gues herbal essence carries a hair color that is safe. but yes die is extrememly bad for your hair specially if not used properly. so i would just let a professional do it.im sure you still look great with out coloring it though! good luck

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

try to use pure herbal colour like HENNA. this wont do any harm and even helps the hair and scalp recover from any sickness. youll look great!

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

Okay Okay Now you need the real Solution to your prob. I have it! Don't use ANY chemicals on your hair to keep it healthy. Use a Shampoo In toner (many colors available at Beauty Supply).. Has NO chemicals. Or if you just want a cover up- did you know they make a Colored Mousse that actually helps in the styling process.

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

some harsh colours can affect your hairs by making them rough.

Does coloring hair illffects on hair.?

Not at all...unless you go for the quality products your hair remains well and good...so need not worry...and more over....try l'oreal its good ...i have colured my hair since 15 am 18 now my hair is more sexier than before...

Coloring hair.?

i had stripped my hair a while back (yeah i know bad for your hair) but luckily my hair is in good health. the color i have on top is redish brown now (more red) and i was wondering. would it be okay to put a semi permanent on top of that, or would the red show back through? my natural color is dark brown and i would like to let the color show as my hair grows out, but i don't want to have half red and have dark brown hair.

thank you for your help. i will most likely put a dark brown color on my head if i use a semi permanent.

Coloring hair.?

When you chose a dark brown to use be sure and pick something with the word ash on it! Dark ash brown will cover up the red. but I would chose a medium ash brown because your hair probaly is pretty porous it will take the color very fast! A medium ash brown will probally end up much darker, on porous hair. A semipermant hair color would be OK, but you would probally have better luck with a LO peroxide color. A lo peroxide color would take better than a semi-permanent one. A semi-permanent color is made to last 4=6 shampoos, and you would have to use it quite a bit to keep your color fresh. You would not have that problem with a Lo- peroxide color. Make sure you do the roots first, and the most porous hair last and be sure and wipe the porous color with a towel to check the color to make sure it is not getting black! you might have to leave it in less time that what is called for on the box! Most of the Color boxes have a toll free # on them so you can also call a professional to get help!

Re-coloring hair that has been stripped?

I had been coloring my hair black, and then wanted to go back to my original color - I'm a brunette. After the black had been stripped, my hair was a shade of red. I then had it colored to brown, so that as my hair grew in, it would be fine. Or so I was told. The color faded very quickly, and is now back to the reddish shade.

I was later told that when you strip the color, it's not possible to re-color. Now I'm waiting for it to grow out. It's either that, or I may just have to color my roots a shade of red to match the rest, because I don't like to look unkept.

I have long hair, so I think it will be at least a half a year to be able to cut the rest. Even then it will be a lot shorter.

Any ideas or options?

Re-coloring hair that has been stripped?

The tricky part of color correction is the condition of the hair. It was the right thing to do to remove the black and to color the hair. However ALL hair color will require upkeep. Had they applied a perm brown over the red it would cause even more damage and leave the hair more quickly. The best result is to cover with a semi-perm in a cool tone. Do not wash again for 24-48 hours. Use only safe and or color depositing shampoo in the appropriate brown tone. Keep your hair out of sun, tanning beds and be gentle with heat. Be prepared to have the semi done in again in 4 weeks. You just need to be recolored- there is no problem here.

Re-coloring hair that has been stripped?

I have severly damage hair from coloring its terrible to put color on color.. I wish I knew that before.. but I guess is all you CAN do is wait until grows out if you want your natural color back because you won't find the shade that is exactly yours because its fade and VERY difficult.. just keep your hair healthy and not coloring it.. I know it is hard because I have to grow out mines because of the damage.

Re-coloring hair that has been stripped?

First off whoever told you that it's not possible to re-color hair that has been stripped is completely WRONG. To go lighter you have to strip out the color cuz color does not lift color. After the hair has been stripped it might take 2 or 3 times to get the color to hold depending on how porous the hair is. To go from black to a brunette the hair should off been lifted beyond the red stage especially if you didn't want red. My best advise i can give you is to find a different stylist and have your hair color to the shade of brown that you want. Like I said before it could take 2-3 times to hold.....Best of Luck!!!!!!

Re-coloring hair that has been stripped?

TRY WHITE OUT FROM HOT TOPIC. IT TAKES ALL THE COLOR OUT AND HAS A CONDITIONER WITH IT. THEN WHATEVER COLOR YOU PUT ON YOUR HAIR WILL WORK.

Re-coloring hair that has been stripped?

Hi, I am a stylist and National Educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems, it is absolutely wrong that you cannot recolor hair that has been stripped. however your stylist who lifted you to a red stage was actually doing it correctly, the fact is that the more you strip (or lighten) the color the more color you have to put back in and the more times it will take to get your color to hold. hair that has been lightened is usually extremely porous and because of that reason (think of your hair as a sponge with alot of holes) color will tend to wash out of those areas more quickly. there are 2 solutions for you. the one i reccomend is to have your stylist use a demi-permanent color in the desired shade, you may have to do this a few times because it will take some time for those (holes) to fill in.... the reason behind using a demi-permanent in this case, is that these colors have a very low or no amonia content, and are also processed with a very low level of peroxide.... this does not open up the cuticle (outside layer of hair, think: shingles on a roof) and helps to fill in the porosity... the other is that they are relatively low maintenance and most tend to have extra conditioning formulas to help repair the hair and add extra shine. your other option is to have your stylist prep your hair first with a filler (this is usually done with a demi, or semi permanent color) and then go over this with a permanent color. the reason i suggest the first rather than the latter (although both work) is that permanent color uses amonia and a higher level of peroxide wich will again open up the cuticle and can cause the hair color to fade more quickly. i hope this helps!

When coloring hair, should you sit under a hair dryer? My hair is completely damaged - I have a new coloress?

to do the job quickly they put the clients under hair dryer.

ask them not to use hair dryer. due to heat color reacts fast and catches fast.

When coloring hair, should you sit under a hair dryer? My hair is completely damaged - I have a new coloress?

Really, it just depends. More than likely, sitting under the dryer is not what cause your hair to get damaged but more like the length of time you were under the dryer...

When coloring hair, should you sit under a hair dryer? My hair is completely damaged - I have a new coloress?

Yes. What a cow. how could she do that to someone elses hair. Dyed hair should be wrapped in glad wrap to hold the natural heat from your head. go back and explain whats happened and you want a free deep conditioning treatment to fix it.

Remember if you find a good hair dresser never change.

In your opinions and why what is the best hair coloring product that you have used?

I have colored my hair off and on for many years (since I was 16)and have used alot of different brands. My best and the one I always come back to is Nice N Easy by Clairol.

I am wondering if anyone knows the right or best hair coloring stuff for skin sensitive mustache and

like most guys my age , my beard and mustache are very grey whereas my hair color is dark brown...I want to add some color but the chemicals in most stuff I've tried burns my skin...

I am wondering if anyone knows the right or best hair coloring stuff for skin sensitive mustache and beard?

Have you tried "Just For men" I heard is realy good plus is design for men. I think that cut be a good choise or you can go to a salon and they'll know what product to use in you. Well good luck with your new look.

I am wondering if anyone knows the right or best hair coloring stuff for skin sensitive mustache and beard?

It's hard to dye a beard or mustache because of the sensitivity of the skin. You'll be hard pressed to find a color that doesn't sting.

One of my clients had this same problem, and I added conditioner to the dye and rubbed conditioner little into his beard dry. When I applied the color he had a little stinging, but nothing too serious.

Try not scratching or rubbing your beard before you dye it. Abrasions to the skin (no matter how minor) are the cause for the burning and stinging, and the conditioner will help to sooth it. Biting a bullet works too ;).

Tips for coloring hair for the very first time (Garnier 100% color blue black)?

This is the first time i'm approaching to color my hair, I'm going for Garnier 100% color Blue Black. I'm really worried about my hair getting damaged after coloring it. I love the texture of my hair and would regret it if the outcome turned out completely horriable. I have dark brown hair and would like to change it to blue black. HELP! I really need advise from someone who's been in a similar situation as me.

Thanks =)

Tips for coloring hair for the very first time (Garnier 100% color blue black)?

The first time I dyed my hair I used at-home dye and went from light/medium brown, to a dark brown/black with red tint color. Hair color is not too damaging in moderation, like doing it the first time, or even once or twice a year. The problem is, once you start coloring your hair you usually can't stop! It becomes fun and "addicting" in a sense to experiment with different colors, but the most reason I can't stop is because once the color fades or the roots come in it looks REALLY BAD. You have to do the same dye again or something different to combat the fadedness or the roots. Its not like you can just color it and then expect it will fade and go back to the way it was before in a couple months. It won't, even if the dye is "non-permanant". I have been dying or highlighting my hair every few months for 5 years now, and my hair still looks/feels pretty good, but if you're going to be dying it you have to be willing to put more money into. I have to buy expensive flat irons and blow dryers that work better on my hair and are safer and gentler for it than the average ones. I also have to buy more expensive products, like salon formula shampoo and conditioner, and a deep conditioner to make sure I'm really taking care of my hair. Trust me, this makes a difference. I will say the texture of my hair is not AS nice as it used to be, but its pretty close with the proper care. You need to consider a lot of things before you start coloring your hair, but I certainly don't think its a "bad" idea. When I dyed my hair myself, I had long hair, and there were little spots that got missed or didn't soak up all the dye. It wasn't that noticable, but I still didn't like it, so be careful to saturate your hair really well so it doesn't look uneven. Personally, I only get my hair colored by a professional now. Its really worth it to go to the salon- it looks better and you don't have to worry about it turning out a mess. Best of luck to you.

Tips for coloring hair for the very first time (Garnier 100% color blue black)?

after all the hair mishaps ive had, i wouldnt advise doing it yourself BUT since you hair is dark brown, going from that to blue black wont be hard. you could even try a semi-permanent colour beforehand to make sure you're making the right choice, because black hair is one of the hardest to remove if you change your mind. all the box colours come with a good conditioner, so make sure you put that on after rinsing and leave it wrapped up in a warm towel for a good hour or so. this will help to repair it a little and leave it lovely and soft. since you're a first time colourer, your hair should be fine anyway because its still in its untouched, or 'virgin' state. good luck chick xxx

Tips for coloring hair for the very first time (Garnier 100% color blue black)?

going darker won't damage your hair

the garnier blue-black is a really weird color... i've used that one before, i prefer just a plain old black. if it's your first time, try using the darkest brown you can find without being black, it will look more natural and it will ease you into coloring your hair and you can go jet black a couple weeks later

Tips for coloring hair for the very first time (Garnier 100% color blue black)?

What I always do when I dye my hair is dye it, and then keep up with conditioning and stuff.

I love Garnier hair dyes/supplies. I would suggest getting their shampoo, conditioner, hair products.

Heres the site, you can look around. They have shampoos and conditioners for color treated hair to keep it soft and nice.

Hope I Helped!

Tips for coloring hair for the very first time (Garnier 100% color blue black)?

Permanent hair dyes or coloring is widely used to hide gray hair and also for cosmetic purposes. The hair color remains permanent, till new hair grows out of the hair shaft. More details and information at http://hcr.in/haircolouring.html

Does anybody know where i can find gray or silver hair coloring?

i have been searching for a gray/silver hair dye for quite some time. does anyone know of a method to achieve this such as color mixing, etc.?

Does anybody know where i can find gray or silver hair coloring?

I think this would work...bleach your hair very very platinum blonde, and then tone it to as white as possible. Then do a soap cap with a semi-permanent dye like manic panic in black: fill an 8-ounce plastic cup with shampoo about halfway, and then add a tablespoon or so of the black dye (you'll probably have to play with this ratio). Then massage the mixture into your hair and leave it on for a bit, and rinse off.

I don't know for sure if this would work but it's the way I'd go about it. I've done soap caps before to tone my hair and add washes of dye and it really does add a nice sheer bit of color, I'm sure it will work for gray.

Does anybody know where i can find gray or silver hair coloring?

No !! Try your local hair salon and get a suggestion or two !!

Does anybody know where i can find gray or silver hair coloring?

yes... inebrya makes a hair dye line called ICE CREAM.. .

but its one of the hardest colors to acheive..(without looking grey... DON'T use black, or it will look grey... but you will need to lighten your hair as much as possible then using a white dye with BLUE tonner, or pearl with SILVER tonner (which is actually blue or voilet) i can take you thru the steps if you like. What is your natural color and do you have any old dye left in your hair?

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

I have medium brown hair with graying temples and I want to color the gray with a product that is less damaging to hair but long-lasting.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

loreal nice and easy. it lasts long

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

In order to cover grey you have to use permanent hair color. You have to open the cuticle. Wella(at Sallys) has color for grey hair that works great. Look at the color swatches they have to match with natural hair color. Good luck!!! They also have "pencils" that you apply daily if you don't want permanent color.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Nice and Easy definately.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Go to a salon and get it done. Anything you buy from the store that will cover gray hair is a lot harsher than professional products. The only gentle color from the store is semi-permanent colors and they will NOT cover gray. I like Redken ColorFusion for my clients with gray hair. It works great and is very gentle.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Any color line that is amoania free is good. Any semi permanent color is good too. Use one that is for gray hair. The best way to not damage your hair by coloring it all the time is to just do the roots every month after the first time you do it. If your ends are faded then you can put it on your ends for the last 5 minutes or so. You can even spray on some conditioner before you put the color on it. Hope this helps.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

Nice and Easy is not nice and easy it is the harshest (is that a word) color out there.

Coloring Gray is really very tricky because you are coloring pigmentless (is THAT a word) hair. It is very hard to formulate correctly.

Seriously consider go to a professional for this.

What's the best hair coloring product for gray hairs?

I have been using nice and easy for several years and I love it....and my hair is always soft and smooth when I am done, which is great for my hair because it is very curly and will dry out fast with out moisturizers....but I have also tried going to a salon and I have never been anymore satisfied with the end results at a salon than with nice and easy, and the nice and easy lasted longer and cost a lot, a lot, did I say a lot, less....just be sure if you do it yourself to follow the instructions for the test before you color all of your hair. I have heard of people having bad results.....

I have a question...hair coloring related??

hey,

I'm looking to change my hair a bit..my hair is currently a deep burgundy brown. I have a question...hair coloring related??

I'm not sure what it's called, but I know what your talking about....I think a lighter shade of brown would look best on the top.

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

Does anyone know if coloring hair while breastfeeding can be harmful to the baby in any way? Does coloring get absorbed and then passed on in milk. Well-founded responses only, please :).

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

There may not be any solid evidence that these activites harm baby, but there are none that completely rule it out as safe. Why take chances during the critical brain forming months for something so selfish and unnecessary?

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

Personal grooming while breastfeeding: What are the effects of hair coloring and perms, tanning beds and nipple piercing?

According to the Breastfeeding Answer Book, published by La Leche League International, no evidence exists that the nursing mother's use of hair-care products, such as hair dyes and permanents, has any effect on her breastfeeding baby. When a mother uses hair-care products, some of the chemicals will be absorbed through her skin. If her scalp is healthy and intact, less will be absorbed than if the skin on her scalp is scratched or abraded.

There is no evidence that the nursing mother閳ユ獨 use of tanning beds has any effect on her breastfeeding baby.

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

No it doesn't. It should be fine. I did it while I was breast feeding, even while I was pregnant and there was no problem.

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

well i colored my hair while breast feeding and it didn't hurt my baby girl...when in doubt consult your physician

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

no harm to the baby but your body is off balance so your coloring might not go through good

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

The good news is, yes it is safe to color your hair. Take caution when you wash your hair that if it is in the shower that you check for coloring that may wash onto your breasts to rinse them well maybe even after you towel dry for several days after dying.

During pregnancy is different.

Generally, pregnant women are advised to avoid any kind of chemicals or fumes. The reason for this stems from concerns about possible physical birth defects and/or genetic defects induced in the fetus. Some chemicals are known to cause birth defects when a woman is exposed to them while pregnant. The chemical interferes in some way with the normal bio-chemical reactions that take place in fetal development. For most substances, we do not know exactly how teratogenetic (the medical term for something that causes birth defects) they are. Obviously, no one wants to try them on a group of pregnant women and find out!

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

no, not harmful, i used to worry about that when i was pregnaunt, my dr assured me it is fine

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

I asked my doc this at my postpartum checkup and he said that it was okay. I would try not to get any hair dye on the breasts though, that might cause some problems!! I think that the problem with dying hair while pregnant has to do with the baby's absorbtion of oxygen through mom, and that somehow gets affected, but that's just my guess on that last part. there aren't any "conclusive" studies on the actual effects of dye on unborn babies, so they take a better safe than sorry approach.

Coloring of hair and breast feeding?

i was told that it was ok and although i dont color i did relax my hair a couple of times while i was still nursing.

What is the best hair coloring product for men?

I keep my hair short on the sides so i need a product that I can buy and be able to use a couple of times. If I buy just for men they give you one application but I end up wasting so much. Plus it doesn't work all that great on the sides of my temples. I still see gray hairs. Can anyone tell me of a good hair color product that won't leave any grays? maybe one for women I'm not sure. Please provide links if you can thanks

What is the best hair coloring product for men?

i just use food dye. works good and it is so cheap. pink is easy for me because i have premature white hair. last month, it was blue.

Any ideas for coloring hair that is dark and thick?

I know the best results will come from a salon, but I was wondering if any of you had ideas for at home coloring for my type of hair. It is VERY thick, a little coarse, and dark brown. I know, this seems like a dead end, but I was just seeing if anyone had ANY ideas for me. I want my hair to be a shade of red (anything that is noticable)

Thanks!

Any ideas for coloring hair that is dark and thick?

My wife's hair is really thick and really long. We use 2 boxes of hair color when we do her hair and check it at the desired time. If it is not the color you want, it leave it on longer. Be sure to check your hair about every 5 to 10 minutes. After you rinse the color from your hair and put the conditioner in it, leave that on for a minute or two longer than it says too. This will help to keep it from drying out as much. We have found that the cheaper brands (Clairol Nice and Easy, LOreal) seem to work the best. If you are trying for a really bright red then I would recommend a brilliant red or a bright red but if you are going for a more like highlights, then any shade of auburn will bring out the natural red tint in your hair. After you do color your hair make sure to use a conditioner EVERY TIME you wash it to keep from drying out.

Any ideas for coloring hair that is dark and thick?

I had heavy dark hair when I was young and tried having it frosted. Big mistake. It made my hair mushy. I would just high light strans. I also used an auburn hair dye that looked pretty good. You might want to try that.

Any ideas for coloring hair that is dark and thick?

i have the same problem what you need to do is when you go and get the dye pick all the stuff out and what i do is i buy double of everything so that it fully covers the underneath and brings the color out and i would also suggest getting some one else to do it to make sure it is fully dyed

Any ideas for coloring hair that is dark and thick?

I have very thick hair. I just have to leave the dye in longer then it says. Ive dyed my hair numorous times. Have my natural color to highlights to blonde to dark brown to light brown to red to very dark brown back to light and trying to get it blonde with dark brown underneath. ha. So thats what i always do.

How long do I need to wait before coloring my hair again?

My hair is naturally light brown. In the past 6 months, I have been getting it colored a darker brown. My hair kept fading back to its natural color. I just recently went to a new salon and got blonde highlights. I am not happy with it and I want to dye my hair dark again. I cannot afford to have it professionally done again. So my question is How long should I wait before dying my hair, and what is the best brand of hair color to use?

How long do I need to wait before coloring my hair again?

Be careful. Highlights could go a crazy color and does NOT act like regular hair. So you will need a gold base color. Go to the beauty supply and get Clairol's Second Nature Light Golden Brown. Mix with 20 volume developer and apply to roots first and then go right through and apply to the rest of your hair. Time it for 30 minutes and shampoo and condition as usual. It will be a natural brown and will fade to a nice shade you can live with. You will now need a glosser like Frizz Ease because highlighting does make the hair dryer. Good luck and hope this helps.

How long do I need to wait before coloring my hair again?

If you are using an over-the-counter color you could do it right now. They are usually gentle enough that it won't harm your hair in the short term. If you continue to use at home color on a regular basis, over time, it will damage your hair. Just be careful to get a color that will cover the highlights and not bring them out. Stay away from anything with red in it. As far as best brand I think they are fairly similar. You don't have to get the most expensive, but definitely don't get the cheapest. Good Luck!

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

I've been light blonde all my life and I love my color, but I'd like to see how I look with darker hair. I don't know anything about coloring hair, what would be the best way to go about this? Will I ruin my natural color if I dye it? Should I just try a wig? lol

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

Being a hairdresser I strongly recommend that you go to a salon to achieve this look. It will not wreck your hair provided that the right products are used. A semi-permanent colour is best as it is actually conditioning to the hair.

The best way to go about it depends on the colour that you want to achieve. If you want to be brunette you will have to use a filler first. This basically means that you have to have a double application of the colour by colouring your hair red first and then colouring it again with a brown colour.

Its quite complicated to explain but basically you have to use a filler because brunettes have an underlying pigment of red in their hair that blondes do not have. So if a blonde put a brunette colour straight over the hair, her hair would suck up the red colour it's missing leaving the hair quite green.

Red is the hardest colour to get out of hair so if you want to go back to blonde it will be more difficult with this colour.

I have alot of clients that alternate their hair colour between seasons - blonde for summer, brunette for winter etc, and it looks gorgeous so dont be afraid but make sure you get it done professionally as there is more to colouring hair than people think.

I also recommend using a colour saving shampoo and conditioner. If you are going to go brunette i recommend Love Brown by Goldwell or Stay Red by Goldwell if your going red. These products are amazing for prolonging your colour.

Hope this helps! :-)

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

Be careful with doing at home coloring, because I had hair that almost reached my butt and I dyed it, and the dye was past its shelf life or something, it turned my hair green. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to have my hair stripped, then had to have it dyed jet black and cut up to my chin!!!

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

Well if you dye it a dark colour its very hard to get back to your natural colour/

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

you will ruin your natural hair color if you dye it and yeah just use a wig to see how your hair looks

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

If you love your hair and just want to test, do not dye it. What if you don't like it? You'll be stuck with that hair for months. Try a wig, for sure or upload a picture and edit your hair to look the color you'd like it to be. If you look good in that color, dye it. ^_^

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

Go to a experienced hair dresser and tell her you want low lights. Low lights are like highlights except your adding dark tones to your hair. It really turns out looking pretty if you go to the right hairdresser. Costs usually $50-$100

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

if you just want to see what its like you can get a temporary hair dye (it fades out in 8-10 shampoos) and if you like it, just get a dye and do it permanently, but be sure to put something on your forehead %26amp; stuff around your hair so your skin wont be stained =]

Coloring natural blonde hair darker?

try a wig or a temporary color first, to see if you like it. If it looks good on you and you think you can commit to it, then you can dye it. But once you go darker, the only ways to get your natural color back are to grow the haircolor out (which can take forever) or bleach it back to blonde. So if you do decide to change it, make sure it's what you really want and go to a salon, so you could be sure it'll come out the way you want it.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

My daughter has a light to medium brown natural hair color. She had blonde highlights on the brown. Looked great to me but she decided she wanted to go all blonde. Yesterday she had it colored all blonde, but it came out blonde and brassy. I called the hairstylist to fix it. We went back today and had more put on (mainly around the roots where it was brassy). It looks even worse. Blonde, yellow, and brassy. She now wants to go back to her natural hair color. Is it possible to do this without her hair falling out? She starts high school in a few days and is in tears. Please reply fast.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

it depends on what kind of dye u used...

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Ok,

ahem.

"Fast!"

I win!

Actually, that's kind of funny, because I had highlights put in myself a few days ago...kind of a golden color on brown hair, looks pretty friggin tight I must say..

And as for your problem...that...um,

sucks.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

heck nooooo and i regret it myself u should never touch her hair it was a mistake, and now i hate lookin back at my old pictures just seeing how nice it used to be and how not nice it is now

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Uh, I am afraid that she is just going to have to wait until the hair grows itself and you have enough hair with the natural color.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

I'm not sure. She may have to just go with blonde hair for a while until her hair starts to grow back to its natural color.

In case you can't dye it back, I'd say try to give her a stylish haircut, so that she'll feel better about herself at least. And without sounding too much like a pervert, guys generally go for blondes :)

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

My sister is a cosmetologist and she had a similiar experience with my best friend who had a bad dye. She had to use some sort of solution that would strip the dye out. I would call another salon and tell them the situation, make sure you ask if they have a color specialist there, they are the ones that have done the extra training to obtain this title, and are worth their weight in gold. They may still have to add some dye or may not, that is why I recommend a specialist she will know best. Good Luck!!

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Good luck!! Her hair is probably pretty fried by now. My daughter did hers black and we ended up having to grow and cut, grow and cut, grow and cut. It's been 2 years and we almost got it.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Yes she can do it...I've had similar experiences in the past. Its really hard on your hair to bleach it but its not as bad to darken it...I haven't bleached my hair in years and have been darkening it instead and its the healthiest its ever been. It will be fine, but just be warned that unless its done by a professional and maybe even then the blonde my start to come back trhought the darker over time...I haven't had highlights in 3 years and the last time I dyed my hair was the first time I have ever been able to completely get rid of the blonde.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

turning it back is a good idea her hair wont fall of!!trust me

goodlck

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

hi there well yes it is possiable BUT the hair has to be in good condition after having 2 bleach services she really needs to condition the heck out of it,i am a cosmetoligest and see this all the time i really do not suggest buying a home color it may turn ashey(green) in order to help you i need to know what you think the excact color is now also the other thing you could do is what is called a lowlight and that is puting darker strands in

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Find a colorist good at making corrections. She should be able to help your daughter get her color back as closely as possible. It's still a possibility that some hair will break off, though, even in the hands of a very competent stylist who may have your daughter take a few deep conditioning treatments before hand,to build hair strength.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Buying any dye from a store would probably work well. As long as you go for a medium brown color, nothing too harsh. But I personally suggest that you have the hair stylist do it. The only thing to really avoid is lightening it anymore.

I would suggest using an unnatural dye such as Special Effects, as they are really gentle on the hair and do not cause breakage. However unless she wants pink or purple hair... or would like to be a red head, I doubt either of you would go for it. =P

Although, they do have toner which should remove the yellow tint and make it more of a 'white-blonde'. And causes little damage in the process.

Whichever the case, make sure to get a good conditioner if she used bleach to lighten her hair.

Good luck, I hope things work out for her.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Hi Gina

I am someone who had her hair in almost every color possible except green :)

My natural color is also brown. I dyed it it blonde two years ago. Didnt like it also.

Dont worry about your daughters hair falling off after additional color application, thats NOT going to happen if thats her first time as blonde. What she has to do is to buy a hair color 1-2 shades darker than her natural and try it. If her current color is too yellow, what you need to do is additionally to the brown shade you must also buy one ash brown color and mix those two together. Ash color kills the yellow.

It might come out a little brighter than her natural, because the base is blonde. But at least she will get back more natural look. And use some restoring/nourishing shampoos/conditioners for now.

Then wait 2-3 weeks and color it brown again if required if not, leave it to grow.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Their is a product called second nature that is a deposit only color. It has no ammonia so it is not as damaging to the hair. It would have to be done in a salon though because it is a professional color.I'm sorry it happened. If she were my client,I would have tried to talk her out of it to begin with.If she does it, she will have to stay natural until it grows back out. To re apply lightener after all the hair has been through would be very bad. Also,it may fade off gradually,so you are looking at re applying about every six to eight weeks. Good luck to you.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

She will eventually get her natural colour back..it won't happen for her in time for school though. Hair dye untreated will stay in the hair for around six weeks, but because she has peroxided her hair, it will go that copper orange colour, then it will fade oout slowly. She can dye it back to medium brown, it shouldn't effect her but just to be on the safe side, do an allergy test to make sure that she will be okay.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

Go to a hairstylist, and ask the stylist for "reverse-streaks". Together, the three of you can look at hair swatches for a close match to her own natural color.

The hairstylsit will then pull streaks or do foils but instead of using bleach, she'll use her natural color and as an end result, she'll look as if she has had her own color, highlighted.

Can my daughter get her hair dyed back to her natural color after coloring it?

It is possible to get it a color closer to her natural color or at least enough to blend it so that she could just let it grow that way.If her hair doesn't seem to damaged, wait at least a week before putting anything else on it. When you darken it, go at least a shade lighter then the color you want because the color might grab since her hair has been lightened. Avoid ash tones because it might turn it green or gray. Try a nuetral or beige tone.

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

I have colored my hair at least 4 times and it is a mess. My scalp hurts and my hair keeps falling and i also cant deal with the falks. It looks soo dead. I know i can buy those expensive deep conditionings but my mom is like, no way. I have a major problem and dont know what i'm going to do. Does anyone know a homemade recipe to fix this. I dont know what else to do... =[

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

The damage has been done. The hair is a living organism and no amount of conditioner is going to fix it...it would be like trying to "raise the dead". Stop coloring and either cut it into a real short cut that you like, or if you want to keep the "illusion" of long beautiful hair, keep trimming it an inch or so every month until you get rid of all the "murdered" hair. The only thing deep conditioning will do is to make healthy hair look even healthier. You might as well go ahead and use a commercial conditioner at least so you can get a comb through it. And stay away from the blow dryer...the heat is what's making your hair take it's final swan dive out of your scalp.

Lesson learned, huh?

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

use tresseme for damaged hair

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

Cut it off and start all over again.

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

stop coloring it!!!!! stay as far away from hair dryers and flat irons as you can and get an hot oil treatment that will help your hair a lot

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

quit coloring it and let it go before it lets you go

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

First of all, you will need to get your hair trimmed. Get rid of those tangly dead dry ends.

This may sound gross, however, the next time your mom cooks bacon or chicken keep the pure grease. Heat it in the microwave not too hot rub it in your hair. Wrap in a warm towl and leave it sit for as long as you are able. Doing this once a week will help your hair. Also, start taking vit. e.

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

if u want 2 get back your original hair then apply olive oil and keep it for ten 2 15 days so that it will take its own time to come back to the normal and wash your hair with panteen hair fall and after doing this again apply olive oil and apply heena to your hair wait for 3 hrs and go and wash your hair with simply water and the next day wash it with shampoo .do this continusly for two weeks u will find drastic changes in your hair

mind u dont apply and colour 2 your hair

i hope u do this

What do i do...my hair is extremely damaged from all the hair coloring i put on it..., what do i do?

I would recommend going to a salon for advise as your case sounds more severe then just a little dryness. I used to use haircolor that you buy over the counter and do it myself and my hair got extremely damaged from it. I now only go to salons and have my hair colored. I also do a Malibu treatment at the salon before each coloring which is a deep conditioner it runs around $15. My hair now is very healthy. I wish you the best of luck and next time go to a salon for your hair coloring it is a world of difference.

Coloring hair won't stay?

I colored my hair with 2 applications due to how long it is and how thick it is. The coloring is washing out. I did not use a cheapy product, it was about 20$. Why is this happening?

Coloring hair won't stay?

If you are using a level 2 hair color (will state what level on box) that is semi permanent..Level 3 is permanent..also, if you use any "shine" sprays, laminators, etc..they fade the color..If the color is just ading, that is..if the color is actually washing out in large amounts you didn't rinse it out properly on the first application...also, was your virgin or previously colored? if your hair has been "processed" alot, it is less porous and won't hold the color...

Coloring hair won't stay?

Hey. This happens to me to i think it depends on your hair type as so i have heard is that if your hair is more conditioned it will retain the hair colour better. Generally the first couple of washes the hair dye does wash out but then gradually stops. Reddish dyes also wash out more easily than other colours. Hope this helps

Coloring hair won't stay?

if you are going 3-5 shades darker you should color fill your hair kind of like a primer. that fills in the porous areas in your hair and makes a clean canvas for your hair color. in situations like this i thinks its best to leave it up to the professionals. it will be cheaper in the long run. and also always rinse with cool water.

Coloring hair won't stay?

You want to make sure you do not wash and condition your hair before you apply the color. Believe it or not, it works better if the color red has some "dirt" to attach to. Sounds weird but true. Red has the largest molecules and is very hard to maintain the brightness of the colors of red. If you try a pre-lightening process, then the cuticle of the hair will be open and the molecules will therefore be able to attach to the hair shaft. Remember, conditioner coats the hair so about a week before you attempt to color your hair, you should use a good deep cleansing shampoo, such as tea tree, to rid your hair of all the buildup of daily products. With lots of hair, conditioner tends to buildup. Also, washing your hair that often dries it out and will make your hair fade, especially red. Be sure to rinse your hair in cool water after your daily conditioner. Hot water is almost melting the color. Cold water will close the cuticle that the hot water just opened up. Just like your skin, hot opens the pores and cool closes them. I am a blonde that goes red OFTEN and it always turns out different but I like variety. Its cool to see the makeup or a strand of hair, try it. Good luck.

Coloring hair won't stay?

Check your shampoo. You want to be using a shampoo for color treated hair. Other wise you could be washing the color out. You wouln't buy an expensive dark shirt and then wash it in bleach. Also try not to wash it so often once a day is often enough. If you are still having a problem go and see a profesional

you might end up with a rash...but to avoid it...clean off the area with soap and water after it has come into contact with the skin...

I've heard that if you put Vasaline on your skin right around the hair line it will prevent the dye from staining your skin.

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

Everyone goes to salons to get their hair colored but my mom won't let me because she says it's too expensive. But I really want blonde highlites. Is there any thing i can use from home that will give me blonde highlites?

People say to use lemon juice can i use the lemon juice that comes in the bottles too?

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

put some lemon juice on your hair and go out in the sun

if you dont have lemon juice you can buy the sun-in stuff and spray it in your hair then go in the sun

or you could just always go out in the sun, it will lighten your hair for sure

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

No, lol, im not sure just lemonade will work, get a lemon, squeeze it like u were making orange juice, and put it whre u want highlights, then sit out in the sun until ur hair is ttly dry

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

try sun in. spray it in damp hair and lay out, or blow dry it.

lemon juice also works, follow the same directions as above.

another option is just buying a kit from the drugstore and using it at home

goodluck!!:)

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

just use actual lemon juice. squeezed from the lemon and everything, dont use the store bought stuff. and you have to do it more than once. make sure your hair is wet, but the lemon juice in, then sit in the sun for a while. as i said, you have to do it more than once to get results. me mum said that when she was a teen, she did it with her sisters and her hair became really light and blond, and she's a brunett!

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

ok buy a $7 dollar bottle and the grocery store they work great. normal lemon juice in your hair before going in the sun for long periods of time will give you highlights

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

unless you want a really bad 'blotched' job ... do not try anything from home ... sure, lemon juice may lighten your hair but not with the effects you want from real highlights. you do not mention how old you are ... you mom is right, highlights are very expensive, esp if you decide to keep them up. there are many 'box' highlight products on the market but i wouldn't suggest it .. esp if you are getting them for the first time. talk more with your mom and see what the two of you can work out. as for highlights ... they are 'in' during the summer but during the winter months, many of us go darker ... something to think about.

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

if your hair is light colored, you can do what all the blondes on my dance team do.... sun-in! it's like five bucks

http://www.sun-in.com/index.asp

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

well if u use lemon juice it will be a yellowish nasty blonde instead you should go to walmart and buy a revlon highlighting kit theyre only $6 then u mix the stuff that comes in the kit u put it on strips of ur hair but not all of u hair u take the pieces u hilighted and wrap them in foil individually let it sit for about 45 mins. so it doesnt turn yellow but it turns that nice cool blonde

best answer please?

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

well if your hair is light brown then the lemon juice might work but u shuld try some SUN-IN it really works just spray it on sections u want highlighted ! however if u have medium brown or darker hair colour then the lemon juice wont really work and SUN-IN will turn ur hair orange so i the lemon jiuce / sun-in only works for light brown or blonde hair

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

mix lemon juice and vodka then go for a walk

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

Buy a frosting kit from the drug store, and do your own. And you dont have to color your own hair to be able to frost/highlite.

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

Yes, and you can use lemon juice from a bottle. Wet all of your hair and put the lemon juice on the strands you want to highlight. Then go outside and allow the sun to dry your hair. It might take several times to get the results you want. It has always worked for me. Good luck!

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

Frost and glow

How can i highlite my hair without coloring it?

Put lemon juice in a spray bottle on a sunny day, then go out in the sun. Do not EVER use sun-in. It is one of the worst things that you can put on your hair. Lemon juice will work just fine. But if your hair is dark brown, it isn't going to really show up.

Does coloring hair improve its quality?

if you stay within 1-2 shades of your own color then yes. color will add some body, add softness and shine. but any more than 1-2 shades will require more maintanance, and dry it out.

if you want to go a little darker then you could get away with doing it at home.

but if you want to go lighter, say to a light brown or dark blond then you risk turning orange or red, with the store-bought products.

hairboutique.com is an awsome website all about hair.

I hope this information helped you.

just colored my hair and it looks more orange than blound.can you help?

Red hair coloring problem, can you help?

I have blonde hair (dyed, but not professionally) and it always takes around two bleach sessions to make it yellow. After the bleach, you need to get a toner. Hot Topic sells bleach kits that come with toner. It looks dark blue/purple but the cool tones take out the warm (orange) tones in your hair. Just leave it in for ten-fifteen minutes and you're good to go. Just make sure that your hair isn't too damaged when you tone because the blue color can seep into damaged ends making your hair look greyish. Good luck!

Red hair coloring problem, can you help?

If your hair was very dark brunette you can probably never get it to be blonde. At least that is what my hairdresser told me. I wanted to be blonde and the best she could do was die it strawberry blonde.

If this was done professionally, go back to the salon and have them fix it. If not go to a salon and ask for help.

Red hair coloring problem, can you help?

What color was your hair BEFORE you dyed it? Red is a very tricky color to work with especially if you start with dark hair or blond hair. It may take a couple of dyes (color combinations and time) before you get your desired look. When in doubt, seek a professional stylist! It may cost extra money but at least you'll get the color you want.

Red hair coloring problem, can you help?

I had this problem a couple of weeks ago. If you dye over it with a dark blonde (go for an ash colour) it'll still be reddish, but with a lot less intensity. more like strawberry blonde than orange.

Red hair coloring problem, can you help?

What color was your goal? If it was blond you need to lift through the orange with lightener. This is a job for a professional. They can mix a very gentle formula and only apply where needed. If more true red is the goal you can find a red glaze and do this yourself. Permanent red color is not the answer to this particular situation.

Red hair coloring problem, can you help?

you have to bleach your hair blonde first, then use the red hair dye...
