I have been coloring my hair for about two or three years and I want to go to my natural hair color.

I am light blonde now and my natural color is like light brown/dirty blonde. I think. Haha Can I dye it back if it is bleached now? Or should I grow it out? My friend Anna did that and she said it looked really bad at first, but then after a few months just half of her hair was blonde and then just the tips and she said it looked really cool! She said gals would always come up and ask how she did it. What should I do?

Go see the ladies (or Dave B) at salon Lux in SLO. They are great with color. I think you would look great au natural!

it looks really nasty w/grown out colored hair unless you want to wait a few mos and see. why don't you just spend the money and get it right the first time.

About 3 years ago i tried a chemical straightener and before that i was using a flat iron. i was just tired of using the flat iron. then i went to camp and my hair was like a fro because i have thick curly hair and at the time it was short. now my hair is longer and i use a flat iron. im just wondering if i could could straighten it permanently no matter if it gets wet.

To go back you just have to stop color. It will take some time for the new hair growth to come.

Meanwhile you may have 2 hues.

Best is to cut hai short after a while.

Yes yo could dye it back too. Is as Ana says.

because you are going from a lighter color to a darker it would be ok to just dye it.

The regrowth stage doesn't look good on anyone. It looks like you were too lazy to do your touch ups. I can see once it gets past that stage and your half and half how people might be drawn to it but I'd just die it closest to what you remember your hair color being so it's not so obvious when your hair grows in.

color it with the color that comes closest to your natural color... don't let it grow out... it looks like you don't care about your appearance... you may but it won't look like it...

just let it grow, for me its cooler 2 colors with lesser amount

best thing to do is go to hair dressers and they will match a colour to go with your roots then just grow it out naturally

I have the same problem. I try to grow it out, then I feel like it looks like white trash hair, so I color it again. I've been coloring mine for about 10 years. Its a vicious cycle and I don't think it can be stopped. Sorry I don't have helpful information.

The only way to actually let it get back to its original color, is to do just that.Yes,It may look bad for a while but if you keep coloring it it still isn't your natural har color..

Go to a salon and talk to someone about what your options are...they can custom mix a color for you and try to match it to your eyebrow color or an old picture so it is close to the real thing. Then when you let it grow out, the difference between colors will not be as noticeable.

And you may want to try darkening it in stages...maybe only slightly darker blond until your next coloring then a little darker so there is not so much shock at your new **REAL** color.

I did the same thing... starting when I was 16. I went almost bleach blonde from my natural color of dark brown. I wanted to go back to my own color after 6 years of anything from blonde to auburn to red(which i now miss lol). Eventually my mom and I tried the Loreal ones with the highlighting wand in it they cost about $20 here. Not only was it the easiest color kit I've ever used it allowed me to go back gracefully to my natural color. I chose a kit that closest resembled my natural color and just didn't retouch it, it just blended in as my hair grew out. Thats my best advice, I hope it helps :)
