First time hair coloring help?

i want to dye my black hair dark brown,but do i need to bleach it? i just want to dye it 1 or 2 shades lighter. oh,and do i need to dye it with permanent color? and if i go to a salon,will the colorist tell me what color looks good on me?

You need to bleach your hair if you want that exact color. If you want to dye it about two shades lighter, then just choose the brown then pick one that is 2 shades lighter than that one %26amp; dye it, because you won't be using bleach it won't come out that light, but similar to the color you want. Yeah, if you go to a salon the cosmotologist can help you select the shade that best fits you. Some places even have a computer that show your face on different hairstyles %26amp; hair colors. I've colored my hair about 2 shades lighter %26amp; did it how I explained %26amp; it worked out just fine. Good luck.

Of coarse, you can go to the salon, but that will cost more money. You can got to the store and but your own permanent color, but make sure it's just what you are looking for. If you want to realy get the idea of bleaching your hair for the first time, you can try the brands at the pharmacy that will last just a month or two. Many pharmacys have it. If it wears off fast enough, and you like it, then you can be prepared to bleach your hair permanently. Or you can start off with hightlights.
