I want to cover my grays and I was thinking of trying perfect 10 by clairol. But I'm scared that my hair wil start to break off because of the chemicals. Iv'e had a perm before, and the chemicals broke it off. Should I try hair color?

It does cause some damage to dye your hair.

It is safer and better if you can get a hair stylist to

dye it for you.

That's a toughie. I'm not a cosmetologist or anything but i do think it Will damage it. Maybe you should talk to your stylist to see what she7he says. Its their job to do whats healthy and right for your hair not what will bring in cash.

i would not color it. however you might want to check with a professional because there might be some conditioners that can be put on so the checmicals will not damage your hair. but i personally would not if you have that fraile of hair. nothing is wrong with gray's.

You should definetly go to a stylist but u might want to tell her about how frail ur hair is. But different colors can also do different things to ur hair but u also want to use good shampoo's and Really good conditionars it sometimes can get a little pricy but you don't want your hair falling out. But you can ask a stylist what are the best cheap brand shampoo and conditionars are.

it will probably damage it... the best thing would be to not dye it and risk really damaging your hair.

Any amount of color is going to do some damage. My advice is to go to a good salon and have them do it. They have much more gentle products than we can get at any store and they know how to match your haircolor or if you want to change your haircolor they can get it the color you actually want it. Take it from someone who has experimented and messed up several times. Believe me just because the box says brown doesn't mean it's not gonna come out orange. Good luck!

If you still have some the perm in through your ends I would not color your hair until all of the old perm is cut off. If you choose to color your hair you will NOT be able to perm as well. Multiple chemical services on fraile hair is a bad combo. Hair color is much less aggressive than perming, so I wouldn't worry about breakage.

I also have wondered about this, and not just for 'the gray' cover-up. I see some of my friends (and others) who color their hair frequently %26amp; their hair seems to be very brittle.
