What do you dilute (to get more) home hair coloring kits with? Water, conditioner, what?

I need to get more haircoloring out of one box of home hair color, so what can you dilute it with without losing or changing the color itself? It is a darker auburn (red/brown) color that I use all the time, but I have very very thick hair, and two boxes of hair color at once is too much and is a waste, but one is just not enough.

Only mix half of the second box and same what's left to use as the half of the next time! I only use half of a box and I only mix half and save the other half!@

Umm just buy two boxes because seriously they are dirt cheap and if you dilute it, it will look totally crappy. But the best idea of all is to get your hair professionally done. Nothing beats professional. And if you insist on doing it yourself, buy two boxes and think about how much you are saving by doing it yourself!

I know I am fabulous!

Just buy 2 boxes.. as cheap as they are you won't be wasting money.. Definatley do not dilute the products because you're asking for trouble trying to stretch it out.. The color won't come out as vibrant and you'll be doing changes to the chemicals in the product.

Also if you buy 2 boxes and only use one and a half just throw the rest away and don't try to save it. Always play it safe with chemicals.
