Hello, how often is it safe to color my hair? How many inches should the roots be grown out before i color? can anyone find any websites with this info too?

as for your questions:

Depends on which way you are coloring your hair...... going lighter than your own color, weakens the hair...... and once every 7-8 weeks should be sufficient.....

going the same color or darker - strengthens the hair.....and can be done as frequently as every 3 weeks but every 6 should be fine.....

the roots are different on every single person, depends on the growth rate of your hair.... Truly...it depedns on how much YOU can stand there is NO set rule. ....What we say is 1/2 to 1 inch.....I would go more toward the 1 inch marker....

YOU SHOULD ONLY COLOR YOUR HAIR EVERY SIX MONTHS IF YOU REALLY HAVE TOO, DOING IT TOO MUCH WILL DRY IT OUT SO BAD AND IT WILL START FALLING OUT, DON'T WANT THAT NOW DO WE, DO YOU WANT HAIR OR STRAW, WHATS WRONG WITH YOUR NATURAL COLOR, BE YOURSELF AND BE PROUD OF IT. GOOD LUCK

Coloring your hair is very safe, provided you aren't allergic to it or get color in your eyes. I'm not sure I understand your second question, but I will tell you that it is perfectly safe/fine to get dye on your scalp if you don't have any sores or any open wound on it.

depending on how fast your hair grows, you sould colour your hair every 6 weeks or when you regrowth is about 1 to 1.5 inchs.

You should wait a minumum of two weeks if you really want to prevent any roots but that's hard on hair. Three weeks to a month depending on how fast your hair grows. Read the back of a hair dye box, they all have this information and each brand has different waiting periods. Find the color you want in the brand you want and follow those. Be sure to use the conditioner that comes with the hair dye, it will keep your hair soft and strengthen it after the chemicals from the hair dye are in.

Usually it's best to just dye your hair every 4-6 weeks depending on how quick your hair grows. Usually what I like to do on people is just touch up their roots and only pull the color through the hair every other time to freshen it up. If it's a permanent color that is. The permanent ones don't usually fade as fast. They are more damaging to the hair though if you keep putting it all over your hair. Semi permanent is ok, it's not very damaging but usually needs to be touched up more sincec most of them fade with each shampoo.

Colouring your hair with permanent dyes can be done safely every three months or less if your hair is in good condition, keep in mind if you do all your hair instead of just the roots the colour at the top will be lighter and could look patchy where the rest is darker. use a root touch up kit or dye over it a darker shade to blend in more the lighter parts will show through as highlights. supermarket dyes are good as they contain less than half the peroxide that hairdressers use. Healthy hair grows at one centimetre a month.
