Will coloring my hair in the summer fry my hair more than usual?

i've been coloring my hair a medium blonde for about 5 years now, until 2 months ago i decided to go about 2 shades lighter to a neutral very light blonde (not platinum)

so i talked to a hair specialist who said bleach would be the best way to go lighter, and if any brassiness shines through to use a toner and recommended a good conditioner to keep my hair healthy.

so far the color has been great, and my roots growing through havent looked bad with the color until it's actually time to recolor and my hair actually feels healthier than before...

its time for a touch up now, but i'm afraid because it's summer and i'm outside a lot. i love to swim, so it's not like a hat is a good solution. also, in 3 days im going on vacation where i will be getting EVEN MORE sun...

is it safe to color? if not, does anyone have tips on hiding darker roots? also, what can i do to keep my hair from frying while out in the sun and in chlorine/salt water?

Its OK to color. What I do is wear a bandanna on my head outside when I know I'll be out in the sun for a long time. Even when tanning. Just find a cute pink one, this will help protect your hair from the sun. You might also try leaving your conditioner in all day if you are going to the beach. Hope I helped:-)

I don't know the answer to your question -- but what was the good conditioner your hairdresser recommended?

I need one. I think all the coloring I've done has destroyed my hair and it's too long to cut to start over. :(

Thx and good luck!
