I'm planning to color my hair ash blonde and then add platinum highlights the same week. According to the directions on the highlighting kit, I'm supposed to shampoo the stuff out. Would that strip my newly-colored ash blonde? And if you have any advice on how many days I should wait to highlight after applying the full-head color, please let me know. Thanks!
P.S. I've colored my hair hundreds of times before, so I am an expert in that field. Highlighting will be new to me, but I'm willing to learn through trial and error, so please don't suggest going to get it professionally done. I'd rather learn to do it myself! Thanks everyone :)

Dye your hair the main color first, wait a day or so then shampoo/condition it. The next day do your highlights, but don't wash your hair that day. Should come out lookin pretty :)

I have colored my hair a lot and tried highlights.. highlights are way different. I tried a homekit.. and my part looked bad and highlights turned orange and I couldn't get rid of it.. I would shampoo the stuff out.. or wait until the dye gets used to your hair.. then highlight in a few days.. or if when you choose to highlight your hair I would wait as long as you can to shampoo your hair after the first time the time after you dye it. Good luck having your hair turn out good.

As long as you use color treated shampoo it shouldn't be a problem.
