How often can I wash my hair after coloring it?

I colored it dark redish brown on saturday and its naturally a blondish color. I washed it on sunday but my sister told me i shouldnt have and that i shouldnt wash it too much or else the color will fade. Will it? Before I dyed it I washed it either everyday or every other day. Can I still wash my hair at least every other day?

I dyed it with Garnier Frutisse and I bought this Garnier color protecting shampoo and conditioner. will that help to keep in the color?
