Hair coloring questions {answer only from experience, please!}?

Ok, I have naturally medium blonde hair. I've gotten it highlighted about two times. Are there any products I can buy to lighten my hair? Also, i've heard good and bad things about lemon juice. I don't want to fry my hair, so I haven't tried it yet.

Are there some products out there that will naturally lighten my hair without frying it in any way? Please!

To lighten your hair, you'll essentially need to bleach it. You can use either packaged bleach from the beauty store, or a box of hair dye in a shade lighter than your natural hair color; that kind has some ammonia in it, which will lighten your hair. To let it get less light, you simply wash the dye out of your hair earlier than the box says to. Unfortunately, the chemical process that lightens your hair also damages it a bit, but you can help minimize this with a good leave-in conditioner. The stuff that comes in the hair dye box works okay, but after bleaching, I'd suggest a hot-oil treatment, which you can find in the shampoo aisle at the drugstore or wherever.

To do a strawberry-blonde tint, you can either use a dye that's reddish-blonde, or you can do a "rinse." The easiest way I've found is to get a semi-permanant dye, which is gentler on your hair, mix it up, and combine it with your shampoo. Let that sit on your head for a few minutes, and wash it right out, and it'll put just a little bit of color in your hair.

just sun in spray, lemon juice won't do anything.

EW, don't use sun in (it turns your hair colors when you go for a dip in the pool) and don't use lemon juice (you'll just have sticky hair). My best advice is just go to a salon and get it done, even if you just want it a little lighter. There is no magic product you can take home and it will lighten your hair without dying it.

DO NOT USE SUN IN. This will damage your hair and won't give you the results you want. Unless your a light brown then maybe its ok.

Well for one, the lemon juice won't harm your hair at all, i've used it so many times before and my hair is still pefectly fine!!! I don't use it anymore though. But one of my friends had medium blonde hair naturally, and whenever she would go swimming in a pool with chlorine and all that good stuff, it would lighten her hair up a little bit and eventually she had light strawberry blonde hair. It might have just been her hair though, but i would try it. It would most likely damage your hair going swimming that much though.

go buy urself a 50 cent bottle of hydrogen peroxide and pour it all in ur hair (be carefull not to get it on ur skin b/c it will turn it a lighter color too) and go out in the sun until it dries. hair dye contains some hydrogen peroxide and when i was little i used it b/c i was too young to dye it. when u get done just shampoo...
